MEET OUR FOUNDER & CEO

Aisha Taylor | Ph.D.

As an organizational psychologist, Dr. Aisha Taylor (she/her/ella) brings over 20 years of professional experience to your workplace table, always ready to listen to everyone in the room. Her commitment to developing research-backed strategies is matched only by her care and concern for the colleagues and clients with whom she works in trusted professional partnerships that often last for years.

Guiding Strategic Culture Change

Dr. Taylor has both the experience of running organizations and teams, as well as the expertise Organizational Psychology provides. She has advised high-level leaders and employees at all levels. Since 2003, she has worked across numerous industries to guide strategic culture change, build high-performing teams (including diversity, equity, & inclusion [DEI] councils), and develop and facilitate leadership and DEI training programs. A few of Aisha’s clients have included the University of Calgary, Marquette University, Calif. State University at Northridge, San Diego City College, the Kinkaid School, Toyota, Watkins Wellness, Murad, Seattle Aquarium, Center for Community Solutions, and the Calif. Department of Motor Vehicles.

Earning Degrees and Learning to Advocate

Aisha holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (I-O) from Portland State University, and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Humanities (emphasis: Religious Studies) from the University of San Diego (USD). Her passion for strategic organizational change was sparked in college, where she became active in the on-going student movement for DEI. After three years of advocacy, Aisha and fellow student leaders achieved two goals: an Ethnic Studies major and a Diversity general education requirement. Her activism was recognized by a number of university awards, including Outstanding Service in Student Government. Read more about Aisha’s story here. 

Running an Organization to Promote Women Leaders

As part of her on-going commitment to women’s leadership, Aisha led the Women’s Ordination Conference, a national nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. for five years, working for gender equity in the Catholic Church. In this position, she partnered with national and international coalition groups and served as an expert on women’s issues in church and society to major media outlets, such as the New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, London Sky News, and Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC). For this work, she earned a variety of recognition, including the Alumni Award for Distinguished Service from USD.

Building Credentialing Programs

With expertise in psychometrics (the creation, analysis, and validation of psychological assessments), Dr. Taylor has developed and analyzed numerous employee surveys and tests. She led a Credentialing Test Development team and directed several large-scale licensure or certification programs. Aisha supported high-profile clients such as the New York City Department of Buildings and the Las Vegas-based Carpenters International Certification Council, helping them obtain accreditation and abide by the strict standards of the credentialing community. 

Publishing Work & Teaching Courses

Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on leadership, DEI, and innovation, and she has taught university courses on Gender & Work, Strategic Staffing, HR Management, and Work Motivation. Dr. Taylor has presented or published her work in a variety of academic and professional venues, a few of which you can see here. 

Giving Back and Balancing Life & Work

Aisha serves as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Strategic Lead on the Executive Team of the Canadian Society for I-O Psychology (CSIOP), the professional association for her field in Canada. She is a cisgender woman of German-, English-, and Irish-American settler descent. Originally from Sacramento, California, Aisha now lives in Calgary, with her spouse and two young children, where they enjoy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, living room dance parties, and building community.
